Focus Card Captions: Polished Translucent Phrase Plate Subtitles
The Focus Card caption style encases subtitle phrases within a polished, translucent dark container plate that shields typography from distracting background motion. Rendered in clean Montserrat lettering, resting words display in crisp white while the spoken word illuminates in vivid canary yellow with a subtle scale emphasis. Crafted for corporate leaders, documentary filmmakers, product reviewers, and software demos, this preset maintains immaculate contrast across any footage.
How FocusCard Looks & When to Use It
Visual & Typography Mechanics
Phrases appear inside an anchored, dark navy plate with generous internal padding, softly rounded corners, and a deep ambient shadow that lifts the card off the video plane. Inactive words display in medium-weight white, while the currently spoken word turns canary yellow with a slight scale accent. The card’s dimensions remain calm and steady throughout the sentence, updating only when speech transitions to the next thought.
Ideal Situations for This Style
- For corporate communications, SaaS software product demos, and executive announcements.
- In outdoor documentary clips, sports footage, or drone videos where background scenery is highly variable.
- When presenting multi-step tutorials where clarity and formal visual presentation are paramount.
- In interview shorts where multiple background colors could otherwise clash with floating text outlines.
